USPS Postal TrucksThe United States Postal Service announced plans today to discontinue mail delivery on Saturdays beginning on August 5, 2013. Packages, however, will still be delivered on a 6-day per-week schedule, which includes Saturdays.

According to the official USPS press release, this delivery schedule change is necessary “to restore the financial health of the Postal Service” and will “generate cost savings of approximately $2 billion annually, once the plan is fully implemented.”

Please contact your Digital Dog Direct Customer Service Representative if you have any questions about how this new schedule may impact your direct mail campaigns. As always, we will keep you updated on any additional news pertaining to today’s announcement as it becomes available.
