Job Summary:    

Digital Dog Direct is currently searching for a bindery operator under the direction of the Production Supervisor, conducts bindery operations to fulfill customer orders.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:  

Under the direction of the Production and Compliance Manager, the Quality Assurance Associate is responsible for developing quality control procedures, inspecting work in process and finished products, and assisting with establishing on-going continual improvement initiatives. The individual is accountable for meeting performance objectives and ensuring high quality output.  

  • Responsible for job set up, equipment operation, and fulfillment of customer orders requiring bindery services.

  • Operation of all bindery equipment including cutter, folder, stitcher, binder, UV coater, shrink wrapper, etc. by assigned staff.

  • Follow established safe operating procedures.

  • Prepares bindery equipment by studying job specifications, inspecting equipment, setting controls and completing test runs.

  • Ensures sufficient supply of printed materials to be coated, bound, stitched, and shrink wrapped to meet customer order specification.

  • Achieves production and quality standards by observing equipment operations, detecting malfunctions and deviations and adjusting controls.

  • Helps maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturers’ instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions and calling for repairs when necessary.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • One (1) year quality control experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.​

 

Preferred Skills

  • Read and interpret documents such as standard operating procedures, work instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • MS Office proficiency

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Knowledge of USPS postal regulations.

  • Capable of interpreting barcodes for quality control purposes

  • Ability to work smart in a fast-paced environment

  • Teamwork, ability to work with others

  • Can work independently and self-motivated
